The Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) along with special guest Samantha Wheeler, author of the children’s book Smooch and Rose will be holding a stall as part of environmental festivities held in the Queen Street Mall this Friday the sixth of September.
The stall aims to increase awareness of decreasing Koala populations and habitat, as well as educating the public on how they can lend a hand in many ways during Save the Koala Month; a month long event that aims to increase national protection levels of the iconic species. Deborah Tabart OAM, CEO of the AKF is delighted to have Samantha Wheeler join the team for the day.
“We’ve recently added Smooch and Rose to our store as it’s an enchanting story that empowers children and it will be a great opportunity for people to meet Samantha and hear her stories on Koala conservation,” Ms Tabart said.
“The event is also a great opportunity to get close and cuddly with a koala whilst learning more about how you can save a national icon during Save the Koala Month.”
Those attending can also show their support for the AKF by purchasing a signed copy of the book as well as other products including a No Tree No Me wristband or t-shirt, or by visiting our shop in Anzac Square Arcade after the event.
The Australian Koala Foundation is also proud to announce the launch of their new Community Service Announcement that will begin airing nationally from September.
